What we collect, why, who else sees it, and how to make us change or delete it.

What we collect, and why
When you send a form on this website
We receive what you type in: usually your name, email, phone number, company, role and message. We use it to reply to you. Downloading our salary guide doesn't put you on a mailing list.
When you're looking for a role with us
Your CV, contact details, employment and education history, salary expectations and right-to-work documents. Where a role requires it, references and background checks, which can include a criminal record (DBS) check or security clearance. We use this to find you roles and to put you forward for them.
When you're hiring with us
Your business contact details and the details of the role. We use them to run your search and to invoice you.
Marketing
Market updates and salary insights go only to people who have agreed to receive them. Every email has an unsubscribe link, or just tell us.
Our legal basis
- Replying to enquiries and keeping in touch about the market with people we work with: our legitimate interest in running a recruitment business.
- Candidate and client work: taking the steps you've asked us to take, and our contract with you.
- Right-to-work and other checks: our legal obligations as an employment agency.
- Marketing emails: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who else sees it
We don't sell your information. These organisations handle it on our behalf or with your agreement:
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website. Form submissions pass through and are stored there.
- Microsoft 365, our email.
- Vincere, our recruitment system, which also runs our job board at careers.rightpear.co.uk.
- Employers, when you've agreed we can put you forward for their role.
- Referees and checking services, only when a role requires those checks.
Some of these providers store data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on the safeguards UK law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
Cookies
This site sets no tracking or advertising cookies. Two things to know:
- Our fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser shares your IP address with Google when it fetches them.
- If you pick "hiring" or "job seeker" on the home page, your browser remembers the choice so it can show you the right page next time. That stays on your device.
How long we keep it
- Website enquiries that don't lead anywhere: 12 months.
- Candidate records: while we're actively working together, then 2 years from our last contact, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or keep them longer.
- Client and invoicing records: 6 years, as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the information we hold about you
- correct anything that's wrong or incomplete
- delete it
- stop or limit how we use it, or object to it
- send it to you or another organisation in a usable format
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. There's normally no fee, and we'll respond within one calendar month. Email [email protected].
Complaints
Tell us first and we'll try to put it right. If you're still unhappy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, 0303 123 1113, or Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
